Yes, oil your machine. The instruction manual should tell you all the details of how, when, where to oil. The manual will say to only use Singer brand oil, but lately I've been using Tri-Flow, because it was recommended by folks with way more experience and know-how than me.
If you don't have a manual, chances are you should be able to find one online, possibly free, even. Just do a google search to find it.
