I have to share because . . .
I was picking my son and his family up last Saturday at the airport after their vacation. While waiting out front for my son to load their suitcases into the van I saw a gentleman in BDU's standing at the curb. He was conversing with another gentleman that was also waiting for someone. I walked over to him and just held my hand out, not knowing if he would accept it or not. He held his hand out and shook mine. I grasped his hand in both of mine, gave his hand a squeeze, gave him a big smile, and our grasps let go. As I turned to walk away he said, "Hey". I turned and he stepped forward with his arms outstretched and gave me a big hug. With tears in my eyes I gave him the biggest bear hug I could muster and all I could say was, "Thank you for what you do". He hugged me again, smiled, and nodded. That's all it was. Plain and simple. I wish I could tell them all.
