As bad as it is, the land is still there (for the most part). I think "the big one" will put the land under water.
They say Japan prepared aggressively for earthquakes and other natural disasters. I wonder, did it help? Was anything saved because of their preparations? Or was the earthquake and resulting tsunami just too big?
One newspaper said rebuilding Japan can result in them having a very strong economy. I hope so. It's one thing to hope for. But it doesn't make up for the cost of all those lives, and all the survivors have lost.
