This reminds me of "the one that got away". I had an Acadien boyfriend in 97-98, and his mother was a quilter. I loved her and she seemed to like me. My MIL is a lovely, hardworking, woman of faith, but we have an ocean between us, no common language, and cultural differences. I often think about what would have been, not with the man, but his mother, who was so kind, and a quilter and nurse, like me! The one fabric shop I had gone to in NB didn't really have quilting fabric at that time.
