I am interested in doing a friendship quilt but am a total beginner at this. I have been unable to find patterns that would work for this. I have seen my great grandmother's friendship quilt and really like that. It had what appears to be a shell pattern in each corner and the names were embroidered in the middle. I also was unclear on what kind of pen or pencil was needed to do the signatures. Please help!!!!
