I should purchase enough to allow for shrinkage. I should get what I pay for. If I ask for one yard, I should get no less than 36". Of course, the store can't continually give away fabric. After a few hundred customers, 1" can really add up. However, I should not have to ask for and pay for an extra 1/8 or 1/4 yd. to compensate for inaccurate cutting. We need to be respectful, but speak up.
