Have you attached the walking foot correctly? The little arm has to go around your needle bar or rest on top (Janome). If that isn't happening the walking foot doesn't engage. Do you have the correct walking foot for your machine? Not all generic walking feet will work on every machine (Husqvarna & Bernina only take their own). Lastly the walking foot could be defective (I had one that just wouldn't work). Hope you get this figured out soon.
Thankyou ladies I am working through all your suggestions I have the proper foot for my machine, it is attached properly, as a last resort I will go and see the lady in the shop where I bought my machine take my quilt along and no doubt the problem will be solved, sincere thanks to you all for your concern, I will keep you posted.
