I used to hear my dad talking away in his workshop, go in to see who was there, sometimes it was a dog, sometimes no one. I asked him once why he talked to himself and he said, He liked to talk to a smart person and liked listening to a smart person. I quote that all the time to my kids--especially when the dogs or cats are not here. LOL
