I really appreciate the pics of small spaces! I've been able to find pictures online, and have looked at books, for dedicated sewing rooms, but don't have one or the $ that must have gone into the furnishings for many of them. It's nice to see how creatively people are using tiny spots.
My sewing area is in my family/computer room, which opens into the kitchen. Wish I could say it's neat, but that would be dishonest. Clean, yes; neat, no. I'm slowly moving some things into our older dd's room (she is grown & gone). No plans to move in there, as I like being where everything/one is rather than secluded at the other end of the house. But I am moving some of my things in there, including most of my stash, just so it's tidier out here. The lighting in there is awful, so I frequenlty bring a bunch of things out here, then drag them back.
But, as someone else said - I have a home with a roof over my head (and over my toys), a sewing machine, and that's a lot more than many have, especially right now. So I'll try to be grateful for what I have, and use it more creatively.
I guess I'd say I'm actually more comfortable with a bit of clutter around me. That sounds a little odd... But I'll also say that I just saw pictures of the first sewing room I wouldn't want to play in! Neat, sure, I'll adjust. Tiny, no problem, that's cozy. Messy, okay, just pile everything and get me to the important stuff. But RATS and SNAKES??? YIKES!! And I thought I was pretty flexible...
