Would for sure finish of the blocking with gray strip.
My chart says a king is 100 x 92 so yours should be large enough!!
Just a suggestion - since its a memory quilt use an old fashion prarie point edging on it with all the fabric you have in the quilt!!
Just to let you know-It was very creative of you to put pictures as centers in the dresdans. You have done a great job - It looks great and will be a treasured item to be passed through generations!! I suggest that you write in the white squares on back who the people are and maybe a date. Also add details about the fabric being from grandmas clothes. Be sure to include your name.
