The fabric is beautiful. It is obviously directional so be careful with borders. It would only look good as a border if it was all going in the same direction so that means your horizontal borders need to be cut WOF and your vertical borders need to be cut LOF. This would look stunning, especially in an Egyptian themed quilt. Another option is to fussy cut it and use it as alternate solid 12" finished size blocks going between pieced blocks in coordinating fabric. I saw a quilt at the Bennington quiltfest last year. It was a braid quilt with alternating large panels of a fabric she couldn't bear to cut. It was stunning.
