I use Long's Toilet Ring Remover. It is very, very, very caustic! I use it about once a year. I purchase it from Longs Preferred Products,Inc. I has been the only thing I have found that will work in our water. I use Iron Out to get the stains out of my clothes. I get it at WalMart in the plumbing section. It will whiten the whites but changes colors on some of the colored pieces. Iron Out says it will take the stains out of bathroom fixtures. I have not tried it yet but will next time I need to super clean the fixtures.
Thanks for the tip. I know toooooo well the kind of stains being discussed here. It's so bad in my area that even pumice won't cut it...used house....used toilet. Ach!
