The newspapers usually will give the end rolls - they call them stubs I believe - to anyone who asks. Just call ahead to make sure :)
My local newspaper gave me several end rolls. I don't use it often but I do have it. I got it for my pcquilter so that I could try out the designs without using thread.
our newspaper office sells the rolls...for the money, I would rather buy the already cut reams!
I am getting a ream of the 12x18 to do some string piecing on!
