I've gotten some great ideas here. It's always nice to see what others recommend. I love the quilt in a day log cabin book also. My first two quilts were from this book. I've been reading a lot on this board about the disappearing 9 patch. I just got back from buying fabric to make one. I love the scrappy look so this one is perfect. My mind is always two or three quilts ahead of my body. ha ha
