Of course you should at least sign it, but include at least City, State, date made. If you make the label into a pocket, you could also include "care & feeding" instructions so that she knows how to wash and dry the quilt. I did a baby quilt for one of our grandaughters and it had applique on it too. Our son carefully folded it and put it in the closet so it wouldn't get dirty - as they couldn't afford to have it dry cleaned. It had never occurred to me that they wouldn't know it could be washed in the washer and hung to dry.
