I count my DH's fishing poles too. I also count his guns and garden tractors as well. If you really don't have the money, then I would not spend it. You could always save your change. I do this when I want something I can't afford it. DH will donate his change to help me raise the money faster. He even helps me sell some bow tuck purses to earn the money. He's a keeper.
