It's not hard at all. I would recommend getting the book, as I tend to follow the pictures (rather than the words! :lol: :lol: ) and she has lots of pictures. I would recommend that you square off your corners (it's optional), unless you like working with bias edges. I've done it both ways and prefer the squared corners.
