We just got a puppy this week end so I am with you!!! We have Yorkies, I am feeding the baby 3xdaily small breeds need to keep up their blood sugar. Our 4 year old Yorkie was on self feeding (we have to put her bowl up now when the puppy is out)I will always have my dogs in crates now. They love their beds & willing hop right into them. We do not use them for punishment tho. Our baby was not crate trained...she lived in a pack & play. It only took a day for her to like her crate in the day time & 2 nights for sleeping. Feeding her in her crate helped her enjoy it, also finding a bite of kibble or a toy helped her like it. Mine have soft beds inside the crate...little Zoey seems to prefer Lexi's bigger bed & I need to remind her several times a dat "This is Lexi's bed! Here's Zoey's bed" I will keep her on a 3xday feeding untill she's 6 months or so & housetraining is coming along.
