Happy Treadler, that is a very nice looking machine. Looks like a Morse I had, but it is not a class 15 machine. Here is a link to a site that features a Universal made by White. It looks more like your machine.

I think Brother also made a machine they called a Universal. And you are right, there is a 15 clone made in Japan that they called the Universal too, but remember the class 15 machines had the tension on the face plate.
