When I was in high school I was working in a coffee shop in a tiny town, the local quilter everyone called "Granny" was hand piecing while she was enjoying a cup of coffee. I mentioned to her I wanted to learn to quilt and that I wanted to make a Double Wedding Ring. She promised to teach me and said she had a secret that saved time by using a whole sheet.
She passed away very soon after that. She never got the chance to teach me to quilt or show me her secret. I think about her often and today I think I may have figured out what she was talking about with the sheet.

Does this sound like it might work?
You sew your pieces in the arc, then applique it to a sheet.

This would not save time for me as Im a pretty slow appliquer. This idea sound interesting to me and I may try a baby quilt just to see how it goes.
