Thanks for your good input, I figured it's worth a try, I already have the fabric and have had it for quite a while so it's ok to experiment.

If you take a look at your triangle shape that you'd be cutting, it's kind of irrelevant what kind of fabric it came from. And depending on where you make the cuts, it might not even be visible that the original fabrics was a border print.

The same rules apply - good contrast in color and value, and a variety of shapes.
