Wow! Who knew there was so much to know about feed sacks? All the uses, the marketing of fabric, the high thread count? Waste not, want not.
I would have never thought that people made underwear out of feed sacks. Nor, would I have known that it took 3 feed sacks from 100 lb. corn bags to make one dress for the average size woman.
That must have been when women started "going to town" instead of the men. Who would have wanted their husband to pick out the fabric for their dress?

Nope no interesting stories but my earliest dresses as a toddler were feed sack----------real feed sacks.
