you are not supposed to use you idt with all the decorative stitches. it will tell you in the information on your display which stitches you can use the idt with.
My dealer told me if you use the idt with some decorative stitches, they will be distorted and you can ruin the idt function.
Any stitch that requires you to go backwards shouldn't be used with the idt
