Depends. I have been thinking about fabric costs. I decided that if I did a "quilt trip", I would spend X amount. Gas, motel, meals, admittance fees (if any) & quilt items purchased on the trip.

Thus, I can spend the same X locally on fabric I LOVE, but am too cheap/frugal to buy at reg prices.

If you are overwhelmed by your stash, or have made a stop spending decision, don't go.

If you have X to spend, take it in cash (no checks or plastic) & GO.

Another thought, you could buy only "support" fabric- blenders, solids, backings. Things that we sometimes have to go buy to fill in our stash plannings.
