My friend asked me to help her make a baby quilt for her new granddaughter. She has never quilted before and frankly lost. She selected this pattern and we shopped for fabric, I helped her cut her fabric (rotary cutting was really new to her) and showed her how to make her HST blocks. I helped her make her appliques and showed her how to machine applique. I think she did a terrific job. I quilted the quilt for her. She selected wide satin binding and after I bound the quilt and washed it, the slight shrinkage (which I like) caused the satin binding to slightly "ruffle" - unexpected, but looks kind of cute for a girls quilt.
