OK so I bought this book called Quilted Treasures, paper-piecing, applique and More. My problem is with the white square in the middle of this block. the one in my picture I ended up ripping apart I dont know how many times last night. I finally just paper pieced the outer triangles ironed it flat and appliqued the white square to the middle. I was thinking of this block when I went to bed and all night. Trying to figure out the directions. They are very vague. I thought it would be easier but when I did it like the directions my block in middle was way off and looked terrible. Any suggestions?

This is the block Im talking about. I made this one for the corner so I already attached the white triangles to the sides of the block

this is the page from the book that showes the block. I am going to applique flowers to the middle squares of these blocks
