No, it shouldn't be noisy. Did you clean it really good, take off the throat plate, oil everything and grease the motor? There might be hardened grease in the motor or gears.

Hubby was having a fit when I told him that I needed to grease the motor. He said that it did not sound like a motor sound. I will bring it to ladies night out and let you check it out. I want to use it as my class machine. Kathie
