The easiest way to make quarter square triangle is to cut your 2 squares 1 1/4" larger than the size of the block, for example, a 4" square is the size you want to end up with, so 5 1/4" is the size you would cut. Draw a diagonal line, sew 1/4" on either side of the line, cut apart on the line, press, re-stack, repeat the diagonal line and so on, then square up.
