My Husqvarna,/Viking 630 is one of the reasons for my above opinion. I bought it in the '80's, because I wore out my Singer, the plastic in it mainly. I asked the guy if he had anything that didn't have all the plastic in it, and he sold me the Viking, new. Back then it was $800.
I discovered just yesterday it has a dial for the pressure on the presser footI knew that), and it has a little darning symbol, appropriate for free motion quilting. It also has a button for full or half speed, and when using the tension in the darning setting, it automatically goes to half speed. One less thing to think about while I learn free motion quilting
