Are you calling the "our Lady of Guadulupe" quilt an angel? How sad. The sellers had not idea who is depicted in the quilt? The roses on her dress mark define her.

Short version of story--------St. Mary appeared to Mexican guy (name escapes me just this minute) and asked him to go up on the mountain, pick some roses and bring them back to her. It's cold on the mountain--------no roses. But he had faith in what Mary had asked him to do. He finds roses just as she said. He pickes them, holds out his cloke to make a carrying space, comes back and drops them at her feet. His reward was roses emblazoned on his cloke.

Beautiful, fantastic quilt. It's really sad the shop owners had no idea what they were selling.
