You are all so sweet and such an encouragement. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
I have to confess, I am a "just do it" kind of person and I have a terrible time following instructions. In my garage I have a UFO from the 1960s that is a bright frightening mess. Maybe one of these days I'll finish it somehow. Looking at it, I just sewed bits together in anyway that pleased me at the time.
When I started "quilting" four years ago I made several small "quilts" inspired by Our Lady of Guadalupe fabric. Soon after, I went to a quilt show with my husband. I was in awe. We looked at them closely and noticed the stitching. Wow! That adds a whole different dimension. Little did I know that was the "quilting" part, LOL!
Since then I've made seven other "quilts" and this last one, with the exception of the binding, was I think my favorite. And I finally got a machine with a walking foot. What a difference! The whole concept of a 1/4" seam was rather fluid in my mind.
I've been devouring books and drooling over all your quilts, spending hours reading instructions and watching videos, and now I'm ready to "do it by the book" by participating in the doll quilt swap. I think I can keep a grip on my undisciplined ways long enough to make a tiny quilt.
And then, no doubt, back to my craziness.
Thank you all again.
