I would use Bright Hopes. It is simple, yet looks hard. It uses partial seams which are very easy. The one on Quilters Cache is not how it is made. The directions are here: http://quilting.about.com/od/piecing...tial_seams.htm You coud easily change the width of both the inside square and the outside rectangles to suit your print. I usually make the center twice as wide as the edges, so it is half the finished block. It balances well and draws more focus to the center square fabric. The pattern, when many blocks are put together, is an over/under weaving of the four outside fabrics.
