Actually, I have the same problem sometimes. I solved it by using one of those suction cup safety handle thingies...you know the ones. They were initially made to help you in and out of the bathtub. Now, the quilt stores sell them at really high prices to stick on to the acrylic rulers to hold them down for steadier cutting. I found mine at Salvation Army for $2.49. Go figure! You can also find them at Harbor freight if you have one close by. I also heard something about using drywall tape on the back of the ruler. Hmmmm, maybe I should check out my DH's workshop.
