Well, for this being April 1, this is not an April fool's joke. I finally hit a good day at the thrift store. First I found about 25 yards of material, averaging $1 a yard, then after wandering through the rest of the store, I found the pair of drawer units-to store the fabric in, and then as I am getting ready to check out, I found a pail of spools of thread. Does that take care of my needs or what? Just had to share that I got lucky today.

No, not really, because I was looking for some special material to work on my granddaughter's graduation quilt, so off to the LQS and found and bought my first group of batiks. I have always admired the quilts on here made with batiks, and now I am getting brave enough to try it. I plan on doing the 10 minute block, with purple base and cream center, and then roll the edges for the faux cathedral windows, and fill them in with the other 4 colors. Wish me luck. I have to have it done by next Christmas for 2012 graduation.
