Ya, flannels would work great too!!!
I have a new long arm comming in the morning and don't have any tops ready. The I spy would be a fast one to do. I am excited. We have lost of grand kids in our family that would love these for Christmas.
Oh...how exciting!!!! Have fun with your new long arm. When I want something quick to do and don't have any tops ready, I just quilt on a solid. I can use it then for bags, mug rugs, and table toppers. I try not to ever "waste" quilting. I have even used the ugly fabric that I don't really want to use to make cats beds for the shelter.
These quilts really are lots of fun for kids. I can't wait to see what yours look like. Make sure to post pics!!! :)
