I have recently started sewing again. Took many years off due to family issues and then tore up my dominant hand. I have been regaining use of it for the past 3 1/2 years. I am unable to use conventional scissors, so cutting has become a challenge. Rotary is difficult also, too much pressure on the injured area. I have found reverse spring shears are a workable option.
Sewing is an old love that I have missed. Patchwork is becoming a new love. I especially enjoy putting together scrap quilt blocks.
I am attaching a baby blanket I made for my granddaughter. It may be difficult to see, but there is a sunshine face sewn inwith rays from his face
I just re-read my introduction. I have only been a part of this site for about 2 months. In that time I have finished a queen size quilt and am now handstitching the border. PTL!!! The years of pesistance have paid off and I am now hand stitching. Hopefully some embroidery is in my future. I never thought I would be able to do any kind of handwork again. Holding a knife to chop veggies can still be a challenge. But to hold a needle without dropping it is a real blessing!
Ladies, look at your hands and treat them well. Love them!!
