The actual quilting is what always stumps me. I look at all those beautiful quilts posted here and wonder how on earth they ever come up with such perfect designs. Could always fall back on meander for the hexes, but not the cubes.

I prefer just to SID with cubes too, so that they are prominent from the hexes - and even the big interlocking ones I've done (Ice Follies and Chain ReAction) I did SID.

I am not keen on the ones illustrated in the books which are quilted over as part of the overall quilting, I think they lose alot of the 3D effect.

I normally quilt the obws from the back too as it is far easier to see where you've been and are going - so once the cubes are SID, I can see them clearly and that way can avoid going over them.

Your quilt is beautiful Kitty, love your design, and the cubes are wonderful!
