We make project linus quilts and do not take new members as we have been together so long and stick to the number that can easily fit into all our houses. I was thrilled then, when a new wool shop opened in the next village, started to sell small amounts of fabric and last Saturday started a quilting group. I went along and their were 8 people there, all strangers to me, but we all got along well and even after 30yrs of quilting I leart a new block/method. I was seeking inspiration and friendship and seem to have found both. :D

How I agree with you about the lack of quilt shops in the UK.
I live in North Hampshire and have to drive a fair distance to a decent LQS.
I have recently helped set up a small Dear Jane group ( from the Brenda Papadakis book.) We are a few ladies who like these little 4 1/2" blocks and we are beginning to build a really nice friendly little group. One day we will finish this wonderful quilt with the help and support of each other !
