I'd just hand-sew a sleeve near the top edge (below the binding) and hang it from a rod-it would hang evenly and not cause any drag
I agree. I do this and then hang them on the cheapest cafe rod that will hold the weight of the quilt. Make sleeve 2" shorter on each side of edge of the quilt. Buy rod to fit the sleeves width so that it will not show from the front.
