thanks for all the compliments, you sure know how to make a girl feel good! it is basicly batik. it's a process of traeting the fabric with a chemical reactor then pouring the different dyes ( 3 greens and kaki and jungle brown) in spots over the scrunched up fabric then scrunching some more and waiting, and waiting ........I waited 12 hrs. then it takes all the rinsing in the tub my back could take then 3 in the washer and a full wash cycle. I only used a cup of each color but it seemed like a gallon when I was trying to get it rinsed! I also had dyed the back for the quilt I made for my boss, I didn't have a piece of muslin big enough so I used a brand new white sheet. MISTAKE!!!!!! It's a poly/cotton blend and the fibers took the color differently and it was not a pretty sight. Miranda saved the day, she had some beautiful colonial rose for sale. The almost ugly will go into a jean rag quilt to sit on in the yard when the grandkids are outside.
