I use the Golden Threads paper and use my sewing machine to make copies. Golden Threads paper comes in 12" and 18" wide rolls, so you can use them for blocks and for borders. Start by tracing the design on one sheet of Golden Threads paper. Then stack several sheets under the design and secure the stack with paper clips so there's no slipping. UNTHREAD your needle, then just sew through the stack, following the design. This will punch the design into all the sheets. Then I pin one sheet on a block of the quilt sandwich and follow the holes to do the quilting. When I finish that block, I go to the next block, until all the blocks are done. By adding one sheet at a time, I don't have to worry about ripping the paper, as it is very thin. Once the quilting is done, I just tear off the paper. By pre-punching the holes in the paper, it makes it easier to tear off.

Your LQS should have the Golden Threads paper. If not, just google it.
