I kept saying that too. I did my practicing on a Downy quilt. Practicing isn't really my style. I did a few practice pieces before setting out on the quilts I've done, but I do better just jumping in. If I say I'm going to practice (like I did when I learned to play the piano), it sounds like drudgery, and I just won't do it. I've intentionally chosen quilts that I hadn't invested a lot of heart into, and so if they aren't perfect, who cares? The thing is, each one has turned out better than I thought it would.
