Welcome to the board, from St. Louis! I have made porcelain dolls and still have my molds and kiln, but got interested in quilting, and....... well, they are gathering dust! :?
Paper piecing is not difficult, but does require some patience to get started! Once you get the hang of it, it is the greatest! I just completed a king sized pp quilt and it is gorgeous. Actually it is my avatar! Called St. Paul. Quilters cache has some great patterns and a practice page, also. There are lots of tutorials to help you get started. Paper piecing and foundation piecing are essentially the same thing. Foundation piecing is on stamped fabric and is from the front, and paper piecing is where you sew to paper on the back side. I know that is clear as mud. Check out the tutorials.
