I use batting cardboard rolls. This works great and a I have a stand that I put them on. they actually look great all rolled up.
I store my smaller ones in a closet on a shelf.
Never in plastic, wrap an old sheet around the quilt to keep any dust off. I usually don't wratp them if I use them a couple times a year.
