I had a friend commission a quilt for her daughter who had recently had a little boy. So I helped her pick the pattern that she liked and sent her out with directions to buy (6) 1/3 yd pieces of colors that she liked. She is a photographer and has a fantastic eye, so I thoroughly trusted her judgment. She purchased (8) pieces she liked. I did have to pick up the off-white stars fabric, but had the brown and middlin' blue in my stash. The triangles in the border are from the pieces cut off when I did the squares-in-a-squares for the middle. She said I could keep the scraps (yeah!) and I had enough to do this second quilt. I still have lots of triangle pieces from the squares-in-a-squares, so there is still another UFO associated with this fabric ... but feeling good about finishing this off.
