I was thinking the same thing - realtors always go for de-personalizing a home. How wonderful you got to see her work, envision how you could use the home and you got to buy stuff to display quilts!
I agree with both of these comments...How on earth we got to the de-personalizing a home for viewing is beyond me. Other than they get these so called home designers to come in and re-do homes, bringing in other items if they don't like yours plus you pay a nice fee for this service. After moving and purchasing a multitude of homes I have found for the most part these design consultants make most homes look so sterile and and unwelcoming. I want to see a home someone has lived in and loved regardless of their particular style of furnishing and could care less if something was accidently left in an improper place. It's just another way for some to make money off of the homeseller as far as I'm concerned.
