I'm just doing a happy dance right now! My Nanna is absolutely awesome and very supportive of my sewing endeavors. She was a dressmaker among other things and thinks it's so wonderful I've finally taken to a craft that she gave me her old Bernina 530-2.

But! This year for my birthday, she just told me to go ahead and order two things I've been drooling over and that she would pay for them! They're officially "in the mail"!

I was lucky in that a lady told me to use Aurifil before I even began my first quilt. I currently have one large spool that's just starting to run down and I love it so, so much. I use cheap poly threads for my animal projects since they're just going to be chewed on anyway, but for quilts... the thread is just magic! With tax and shipping, the total for 35 spools of Aurifil came out to about $115. I'm so freakin' happy.

And I also have a serious rainbow love, so the Color Card will serve as both project assistant and art piece. Heeeee.
