I work in a hospital and things (drawers and such) used to get labeled with a type of masking tape. We were trying to make old things useable in our new space so we have "Adhes-Away" which is wonderful for removing tape residue. Masking tape (old) is the very worse stuff to remove. We ended up using a razor blade on it after using Adhes-Away several time to get the sticky off. The brown yuck left behind is tortuous! Razor blade did work, but not sure you'd want to use it on a machine.
