Part A is automatic at age 65 if you have 40 quarters on your own working record or if you spouse has already earned his 40 quarters then you can be entitled on his record. Part A is free. Your message states that your spouse is still working, so you can defer Part B until he stops working. You have 5 months from his last day of work to enroll in Part B. You will need a special form to verify his work and current insurance coverage for you under his employer insurance plan. What you will pay for Part B is determined by your income. My advise is don't wait during those 5 months, there could be a penalty imposed for late enrollment. For more information call 1 800 772 1213. Although this is Social Security, they can be of great help and answer any questions you have and send you any material on the subject. I'm sorry I won't be the one answering the phone, but I hope I have been helpful today.
