I don't want to rain on what will be a happy circumstance for alot of us fabric shoppers (includes me) but I hope this time they will have the fabric counter staffed by someone who knows how to cut fabric. Before the "change" when my store had fabric I had to call for help each time and wait and wait. Then whoever came over usually admitted they really didn't know what to do.
Years ago we hit a fabric counter during the regular gal's lunch. They sent over a kid who knew nothing about fabric. She did not even know how long a yard was. (blame that on the schools). BAD! Anyway while my sis in law showed her how to cut fabric and price it, I went in search of the manager.
I told him he was unfair to us the customers, unfair to the kid trying to fill in and unfair to Wal-Mart. We could very easily have told her a yard was 60 inches or 72 inches or whatever we wanted if we were dishonest. It was bad for the girl, becaue she was frustrated beyond belief. And it took us, the customers, about 5 times the time we'd normally have spent in line.
What surprised me the other day, I got a gal in Jo-ann's who didn't know how to cut a third of a yard. She almost cut 2/3 until I stopped her. Adn of course, she had no idea that 1/3 of a yard was .3333
